An FAQ on Brian Chew
Describe the type of person you might be interested in meeting and the type
of encounter (i.e., pen-pal, general fellowship, looking for a friend,
considering long-term relationship).
Let's see... how do answer this? I'm not a dater but I am looking for
someone special in my life. I would hate to meet someone who knows this
because I want to start out casually as friends and build a firm foundation
of friendship. Okay, now that I've disclosed info that I'm saying I don't
want disclosed am I making sense? (why am I so nervous?)
Describe yourself (physical appearance and personality type).
I am athletic and have played sports all off my life. I used to lift
weights but that was almost two years ago. Thank the Lord for good genes.
I am outgoing and enjoy making others laugh at my expense just to make
everyone feel at ease. I am definately an extrovert but I really enjoy
quiet times at the beach and beautiful scenes of God's work.
Describe the extent of your involvement in religious activities.
I am a member of a Christian musical drama group, I used to be choir,
I love to work in the childrens programs, I am a member of the basketball
team, was on the volleyball team, and can't wait to start a hip hop dance
troop but no one at church dances :(
Do you feel you have any specific stengths / gifts as a Christian?
My spiritual gifts are in administration, but I am very creative(right
brained) and have a strong sense of order to get the creative into
reality(left brained). I am pretty sensitive to people as well. I recognize
how people are feeling whenever I'm around them whether they are happy,
sad, anxious, or whatever. I read people pretty easily. It can be annoying
sometimes.
What's the FIRST thing others notice about you?
Either a charismatic leader with energy or a serious leader that has
this pensive look all the time. It really depends on what I'm doing at the
time.
What would be a perfect first encounter for you? If finances became
involved, would you take the initiative to pay?
Anything during a sunset because of the rare feeling a sunset gives.
I'm open to dutch or paying. I don't feel comfortable w/ a lady paying for
everything. Sorry if I offend all you rich-must pay women.(do you really
exist?)
Where have you met most of your current friends? If you could choose the
ideal friend, what would he/she be like?
Met most of my friends from school, church, and everywhere else. I get
around and do so much that I've met a lot of people. Ideal friend...does
not rely on his/her friend but relies on God's eternal friendship.
What type of work do you do and are you still enjoying it? How long have you been in this line of work?
I have my own business and God is blessing me w/ trials galore so I
can have some stories to tell on TV when i get famous. I've been in it for
2 years.
Favorite pastime? Hobbies? Diversions? Just what goes on at your place most Sundays?
I love to dance, play basketball, memorize scripture(gotta do more of
that), watch every sunset, improve my prayer life, spend time w/ my
grandparents and improve my Chinese, and enjoy good fellowship. Sundays are
for the Lord and I worship, worship, worship.
What comedians, TV shows, or movies match your sense of humor?
Sinbad, he doesn't need profanity to be funny and makes fun of the
funny things we do.
Would you rather watch TV with a friend or talk about the meaning of life?
I would rather watch TV with a friend but talk about the meaning of
life if nothings on. I would rather talk about the meaning of life but
watch TV if nothings interesting about life. Of course life is VERY
interesting.
Name some of your favorite singers and bands. Do you go to concerts /
performances? List some you have recently attended.
Out of Eden, 4Him, LL Cool J, Hammer, Howard Hewitt, Boys II Men, Dave
Koz, Praise Band, Sandi Patti, and on and on and on... I love so much music
it drives me crazy. Last concerts I attended was STOMP!! and JAM on the Groove.
Concerts: Twila Paris, Janet Jackson, Mel and Dick Tunney, New Edition, Hammer, 4HIM, Point of Grace.
What kind of magazines / newspapers / books do you read? Favorite authors?
I have to keep up w/ the Internet industry so I try to read 6 Net mags
a week. Never did it though. Can't do the first so reading books are out of
the picture for now.
Which radio stations do you listen to most often?
none, I listen to my CD's.
When you were a child what did you hope you would grow up to be?
I wanted to grow up to be me. I guess I've fulfilled my childhood dreams.
Do you collect anything? (e.g. stamps, coins, dust, good memories)
I collected comics when I was a kid. I collect nothing but dust on my
comics now.
What were your favorite subjects in school? Where did you attend High
School and / or College?
Truthfully... PE and biology(in that order). The college I attended
was ......that's too personal you might know me :)
If you have any pets, what are they and what are their names?
None
What personal habits of others really irritate you?
People who fart when I'm trying to relax just piss me off!
What characteristics are 'sexy' or attractive to you in another person?
Depends on the person. There are so many characteristics that can be
sexy I don't have a concensus on one group. Each individual has their own
set of characteristics. We are all so different and that's the great part
of God's design.
If you had any previous relationships / marriages 'fail', what do you feel
was the cause?
My past relationships failed because I was immature and didn't
communicate. There are faults on the other side but that's private.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would change my sense of worrying. I need to be on top of projects
all the time, but I need to relax and allow God to take care of things
according to His will and not my own.
You have just won a state lottery for $115 million. (It could happen!) What
would you do with it?
Lead as many kids to Christ as I can in this hopeless world.
If you could pick one super-human power (like comic-book characters have),
what would you choose?

San Francisco born and raised.
Where on earth have you never been to that you would like to visit?
Isreal, China, Europe
What is your ethnic origin or ancestry?
I am a Chinese American. My Father was born in the US and my mother is
from Hong Kong.
Do you wear cologne / perfume? Which one(s)? Which one gets your attention
the quickest?
Don't know what it's called but people say I put too much.
Have you ever accomplished anything that got your name on television,
radio, in a magazine, or newspaper? What was it?
KRON-TV's, Emerald Yeh did a story on my business and Henry Tenenbaum
featured me in a story about the Internet.
Do you belong to any organizations / clubs / teams? Special interests groups?
I am a member of M Society West, a young asian professional's group,
I'm in the President's Club for the SF Chamber of Commerce(I think I'm
their youngest member). I wish I was good enough to be in the Culture Shock
Dance Troop but I'll keep practicing. I am a member of a Christian, musical
drama group call the Cornerstone Singers.
