Grand Canyon

Approach the canyon and you will see
His power through beauty and majesty

Created in love for us to view
Enjoy His grace and strength renew

O Lord our eyes can only piece
A fraction of your glory least

Who knows Lord why your love persists
Your creations and your work insists

One day when we all praise your name
All home your children forever remain

For now we settle in valleys of strength
Mountains of peace and rivers at length

The trees your sacred art
The river flows from end to start

The stars like glitter show us the night
W/ sunrise the end but sunset more light

Your presence undoubted except in the weak
Think they are strong yet only are the meek

The canyon remains through wind and heat
Where raging storms and lightning beat

The canyon, the walls, the water, the blood
The river, the pump, the air, the flood

The heart of the Lord beats to and fro
To enrich the earth and make it grow

Yet observers never appreciate
The creators goodness to create

From selfish eyes to take the prize
The creators touch unrealized

We are justly punished w/ vision so closed
For we will never admire the beauty He knows

Of the fiery red of an oceans sky
When the sun rests on its gentle tide sighs

Of the brilliant red of a rose petals skin
When a raindrop gently slides down and in

Of the giant oak planted firm
When the strong winds blow hear the leaves turn

There is nothing to take the beauty away
It has always been and always will stay

Just open your mind and be deadly still
The sights, sounds, taste, smell, and touch your heart will feel.
